See an Oscar-winning documentary that provides unique perspectives on one of the world's most complex conflicts. No Other Land will be screening at O Cinema South Beach from March 7-20 on select dates, offering Miami audiences access to a film that has had limited distribution in the United States.
This documentary, directed by a Palestinian-Israeli collective including Basel Adra, Yuval Abraham, Hamdan Ballal, and Rachel Szor, chronicles five years of events in Masafer Yatta, a group of Palestinian villages in the southern West Bank. Shot in vérité style, the film documents the demolition of homes and schools and the displacement of residents to make way for an Israeli military training ground.
Beyond its unflinching footage of destruction and displacement, "No Other Land" explores the friendship that develops between Palestinian activist Basel Adra and Israeli journalist Yuval Abraham as they document and protest these events, revealing how their alliance transcends significant differences in their lived experiences.
The film has received critical acclaim, winning the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. O Cinema South Beach joins two dozen theaters nationwide to screen this work. The film's opening night is on Friday, March 7, at 7 p.m. with additional screenings scheduled through Tuesday, March 11.
This screening represents O Cinema's ongoing commitment to bringing important independent films to Miami audiences, particularly those that might otherwise be difficult to access.
