Jazz Influence: Frost Wind Ensemble
Apr 13, 2025
Starting: 7:30 PM
The Frost Wind Ensemble closes out their season with Jazz Influence on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at the Gusman Concert Hall. This dynamic performance features two distinguished soloists - soprano Lindsay Kesselman and pianist Shelly Berg - presenting a blend of jazz, classical and contemporary works. Kesselman will perform Maria Schneider’s Winter Morning Walks, arranged for wind ensemble by Andrew Keiser, while Berg brings his jazz interpretation to Lennon and McCartney’s Blackbird and Gershwin’s Prelude No. 2 in C# minor.
The program will also include Wynton Marsalis’ vibrant Herald, Holler, & Hallelujah! and Donald Grantham’s Fantasy Variations, rounding out a night of powerful performances that explore the intersection of jazz and classical music.
