Attractions
Step back in time and learn about the unique history of Miami Springs at the Miami Springs Historical Museum. Founded in 1991, this museum is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the city's rich heritage.
Recently relocated to a new facility, the museum offers an engaging experience for visitors. Rotating exhibits delve into various aspects of Miami Springs' past, from its early development as a "land boom" oasis to its connection with aviation history.
One of the museum's highlights is the Kellogg Experiential Exhibit. Immerse yourself in the "Spirit of the Radio" presentation, a unique audio-visual experience hosted by a disembodied voice emanating from an antique radio. This presentation, sponsored by the Shonberger Family and designed by IMAGOS Entertainment, takes you on a historical journey through the city, showcasing the evolution of Miami Springs' architecture and its people.
Explore a range of exhibits that tell the story of Miami Springs, including:
- Country Club Estates Becomes Miami Springs - Explore the city's early development through the lens of its founding developers, Glenn Curtiss and James Bright.
- Wings / Memories of Eastern Air Lines - Discover Miami Springs' role as an "aviation company town" and learn about the legacy of Eastern Air Lines.
- Battlecreek - This exhibit, made possible by a generous gift from Frank & Yvonne Shonberger, delves into the history of Dr. Kellogg's transformation of a hotel into an international health spa.
The Miami Springs Historical Museum offers free admission and is open to the public every Saturday (except for Christmas and New Year's Day) from noon to 4 p.m.
