The Act of Valor: Collective Performance and Workshop
This event has passed.
Explore the power of creativity and collective action at Pérez Art Museum Miami from November 3-7 with The Act of Valor: Collective Performance and Workshop by Tirzo Martha. This engaging workshop, part of PAMM’s Beyond Representation series by the Caribbean Cultural Institute, invites participants to reflect on societal challenges such as climate issues, poverty and injustice. Led by Martha, the workshop invites participants to envision themselves as superheroes, each equipped with their own special powers and abilities. By identifying personal struggles and aspirations, participants will design superhero costumes and develop individual performances based on their personal struggles and desires for change, culminating in a public collective performance.
Tirzo Martha, born in Curaçao in 1965, is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans sculpture, video, installation and performance art.
