Join Krysten Hill and Denise Duhamel for an evening of poetry at the SWWIM Poetry Reading on Thursday, January 30 at The Betsy - South Beach Library. Hosted by SWWIM (Supporting Women Writers in Miami), this free reading features acclaimed poets Krysten Hill and Denise Duhamel, along with special guest Julie Marie Wade, sharing their distinctive voices in an intimate setting.
Krysten Hill, author of How Her Spirit Got Out, brings her award-winning work to the event, which has appeared in Poetry Magazine and The Academy of American Poets’ Poem-a-Day Series. Hill is the recipient of numerous accolades, including the Jean Pedrick Chapbook Prize and the Mass Cultural Council Poetry Fellowship. Denise Duhamel, a celebrated poet and Guggenheim Fellow, will also take the stage. Known for works such as Second Story and Pink Lady, Duhamel’s extensive career includes recognition from the National Book Critics Circle and the NEA.
The evening also features Julie Marie Wade, author of 21 volumes spanning poetry, prose, and hybrid forms, including the recent nonfiction novella The Mary Years. A Lambda Literary Award winner, Wade’s collaborative work with Duhamel has garnered acclaim for its inventive approach to verse.
Admission is free. The Betsy Hotel is a family-owned and operated luxury resort hotel located on Ocean Drive in Miami Beach.
