GableStage at The Biltmore presents the Miami premiere of Summer, 1976, a poignant exploration of female friendship and self-discovery by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Auburn. Running on select dates between March 28 and April 20, the play unfolds against the backdrop of the American Bicentennial.
The story centers on an unlikely bond that blossoms between two women from vastly different worlds. A fiercely independent artist and a young housewife find themselves drawn together, sharing experiences of motherhood, personal aspirations and the complexities of love. The two women offer each other invaluable support and encouragement, ultimately prompting personal growth and a newfound sense of independence. Starring Patti Gardner and Sara Morsey, Summer, 1976 is a heartwarming and insightful look at the connections and small moments that shape our lives.
