Shakesqueer in the Garden

Celebrate creativity, expression and community at Shakesqueer in the Garden, an inaugural event set to take place on Wednesday, January 15 at The Standard Spa, Miami Beach. This vibrant evening, open exclusively to guests 21 and over, invites attendees to explore the intersections of art, identity and performance in a safe and inclusive space.

The event kicks off with a Welcome Cocktail Reception from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., offering an elegant opportunity to mingle and set the tone for the evening. All attendees can enjoy one welcome cocktail, wine or beer with their ticket. The Show Time! program begins promptly at 7:30 p.m. and runs until 9:00 p.m., featuring an exciting lineup of performers. At 8:30 p.m., the Guests Costume Contest begins with a grand prize of $100 in food & beverage credit and a Day Pass (blackout dates apply). 

Hosted by Ursa Arcana (they/he), the evening’s performances include appearances by drag artists, poets, dancers and circus performers, such as Matías, Cosmic Divinity, Space Boi Jei, Circus Joshira, Sir Bastian and more. Victorian Greeter from Nightbird Experiences will welcome guests with a playful, gender-bending character, setting the stage for this memorable evening affair.

Set within the scenic garden of The Standard Spa, this inclusive event combines spoken word, drag, burlesque and music to create a celebration of inclusivity and pride. Guests are encouraged to dress in cocktail chic attire, with swimsuit covers, sleeveless shirts and sandals not permitted. Presented with support from Visit Miami LGBTQ+, this event is free to attend, but space is limited.
