Experience a heartfelt tribute to the late Rubí Arana at the launch of the bilingual edition of Agua Sagrada on Friday, November 22, as part of the Miami Book Fair event line up. Friends and colleagues of the Nicaraguan poet, including Lidia Caraballo, Beatriz Mendoza Cortissoz, Alejandra Ferrazza, Kelly Martinez Grandall, Gloria Miladelarocca, Danilo López Román, Stacey Alba Skar-Hawkins and Omar Villasana, will share personal anecdotes and readings to honor her legacy. This event will be presented in Spanish.
Rubí Arana was a renowned Nicaraguan poet and writer whose work explored themes of love, loss, nature and social justice. Born in Managua in 1952, Arana began writing at a young age and quickly established herself as a prominent figure in Nicaraguan literature. Her poetry, known for its lyrical beauty and emotional depth, often reflected the political and social turmoil of her country. Arana's work has been translated into multiple languages and has received numerous awards and accolades. She passed away in 2018, leaving behind a rich literary legacy.
