See art, music and digital technology come together in a New World Symphony performance titled Music in (Techni)Color. Slated for performances on Saturday, March 1 and Sunday, March 2 at the New World Center, this groundbreaking orchestral concert features Stéphane Denève conducting a program of works by Maurice Ravel, Anna Clyne and Modest Mussorgsky.
The program opens with Ravel's Mother Goose Suite, enhanced by digital illustrations that bring the music to life. Next, discover the East Coast premiere of PALETTE by Anna Clyne, a groundbreaking work that utilizes software to expand the orchestra's sound in a revolutionary new way. This interactive sonic experience, created in collaboration with sound designer Jody Elff for Augmented Orchestra (AO), explores a new kind of orchestral listening experience by fusing traditional orchestral instruments with contemporary sonic processes.
Finally, the iconic Pictures at an Exhibition by Modest Mussorgsky will take you on a musical journey through an art gallery that culminates in one of the most extraordinary finales in classical music.
