Miami Waterkeeper Kayak Clean Up
Through Dec 14, 2024
Select Days
Starting: 9:30 AM
Paddle for a cleaner bay at the Miami Waterkeeper Kayak Clean Up. Help remove marine debris from Biscayne Bay's coastal and mangrove habitats alongside Miami Waterkeeper and Miami EcoAdventures.
Clean-ups take place on multiple Saturdays throughout the season: August 10, September 28, October 19, November 9 and December 14. Participants will set off at 9:00 a.m. from Crandon Marina on Key Biscayne. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the cleanup itself lasts approximately 2 hours, ending around 11:30 a.m. A $30 fee covers your kayak, paddles, life vest, hydration, light snacks and guidance from a Miami Waterkeeper staff member.
Closed-toe shoes are required, and long-sleeved shirts and pants are recommended (clothing that can get wet). Don't forget a refillable water bottle, sun protection and a hat. Gloves are optional, but Miami Waterkeeper will have some available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please register in advance, as space is limited. Double kayaks will be used, so solo participants may be paired with another volunteer. If you have difficulty registering or have your own kayak or paddleboard you'd like to use, contact erin@miamiwaterkeeper.org for assistance.
