Kandace Springs Trio
Feb 08, 2025
Starting: 8:00 PM
Join the Kandace Springs Trio at Pinecrest Gardens on Saturday, February 8, for an evening of soulful melodies as part of the 2024-2025 Jazz Series. Renowned for her captivating voice, described by Prince as having the power to "melt snow," Kandace Springs leads an all-female ensemble that seamlessly blends soul, pop and jazz.
A Nashville native, Springs grew up surrounded by music, deeply influenced by her father, the respected session singer Scat Springs. Her career took off after Prince discovered her viral rendition of Sam Smith's Stay with Me, leading to performances on renowned stages, television shows and festivals like Afropunk and Bonnaroo. Her debut EP and album Soul Eyes earned critical acclaim, showcasing her mature artistry through sensuous vocals and elegant arrangements.
In this concert, Springs will perform songs from her latest Blue Note Records album, The Women Who Raised Me, a heartfelt tribute to legendary female vocalists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and Sade. Her work honors the legacy of musical pioneers while defying genre boundaries.
The performance will be held in the historic Banyan Bowl, an amphitheater known for its acoustics and geodesic dome.
Single tickets go on sale in September.
