Israel Philharmonic

The Adrienne Arsht Center's Knight Masterworks Classical Music Series welcomes back the Israel Philharmonic on March 19, 2025. Led by music director Lahav Shani, an acclaimed young talent in the international music scene, the Israel Philharmonic brings the legacy of Israel’s oldest and most influential cultural institution to life. Shani, the first Israeli-born music director of the Philharmonic, is lauded for his ability to unify the orchestra into a "single instrument" (Los Angeles Times) while still allowing individual musicians to shine.

The evening's program features a diverse selection of works:

• Avner Dorman's Prayer, a piece that reflects on themes of spirituality and contemplation.
• Leonard Bernstein's Halil, a captivating flute concerto inspired by Middle Eastern musical traditions.
• Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6, a cornerstone of the symphonic repertoire, known for its emotional depth and dramatic power.
