Houston Ballet II, the exciting second company of the Houston Ballet, brings a diverse program of classical ballet and contemporary dance to The Moss Center on Saturday, April 5.
The performance begins with the third act of The Sleeping Beauty, choreographed by Claudio Muñoz after Petipa. Witness the celebration of Princess Aurora and Prince Florimund's wedding, joined by fairy tale characters.
Next, enjoy the spirited and lively Don Quixote pas de deux, also choreographed by Muñoz after Petipa. This piece showcases the joyful celebration of Kitri and Basilio's marriage.
The program continues with A Dance in the Garden of Mirth, choreographed by Stanton Welch. Set to traditional 13th and 14th-century music, this piece captures the vibrancy and joy of medieval gatherings, illustrating the powerful effect of music on people.
The evening concludes with Molto Espressivo, choreographed by Ilya Kozadayev. This dynamic and expressive interpretation is set to the music of John Field.
