Echoes of Yellow Journalism: From Sensationalism to Clickbait
New dates TBD
From: 6:15 PM to 8:00 PM
Explore the lasting impact of yellow journalism in a panel discussion at The Wolfsonian on Friday, November 15. Echoes of Yellow Journalism: From Sensationalism to Clickbait will examine how William Randolph Hearst's sensationalist tactics continue to influence modern media, from clickbait headlines to the spread of disinformation. Featuring Susan Jacobson, director of FIU’s Lee Caplin School of Journalism & Media, and Wolfsonian chief librarian Francis Luca, the discussion will draw connections between Hearst’s era and today’s media environment. This event is inspired by the museum’s HEARST: Lampooning the King of Yellow Journalism installation.
