Community Action Days at UF IFAS Extension
Through Apr 05, 2025
Select Days
From: 9:00 AM to Noon
Join the effort to protect and restore South Florida’s environment at Community Action Day at the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Extension Office. Held on select Saturdays from November through April, this volunteer event invites participants to work alongside the Urban Horticulture Program staff and Master Gardener Volunteers from 9 a.m. to noon.
Volunteers will help beautify the campus while learning about the nine principles of Florida-Friendly Landscaping, which emphasize sustainable gardening practices that reduce environmental impact. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in landscaping, learn from seasoned horticulturists and make a positive contribution to the local community. Whether you’re an individual, part of a group, or a student in need of volunteer hours, everyone is welcome to participate. Volunteers under 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Arrive a few minutes early for check-in, and community service hours can be emailed by request after the event.
