Starting: 8:00 PM
Female artists from across the globe converge to share powerful stories through theater, music and visual arts in this captivating cultural celebration. The Casandra IX International Women's Festival: EVA takes center stage at the Sandrell Rivers Theater March 14-15, continuing its tradition of amplifying women's voices in the performing arts.
The festival opens with EVA, a multilingual theatrical production presented by El Ingenio Teatro, featuring English subtitles for broader accessibility. Each evening begins with art exhibitions showcasing works by international artists, including Argentina's Vicky Lopez on Friday, March 14 and Cuba's Erick Olivera on the Saturday, March 15.
Under the direction of Lilliam Vega, who also co-wrote the text with Adyel Quintero, "EVA" brings together a talented ensemble cast including Ivanesa Cabrera, Simone Balmaseda, Kirenia Vega, Dianet Conde and Fanny Lauten, with a special appearance by Flora Lauten. The production is enhanced by live musical performances from Jorge Morejón and Héctor Agüero.
Drawing inspiration from the mythological figure Casandra, known for her unheeded prophetic visions, this festival celebrates the countless women who continue to shape our world through their creativity, wisdom and determination. The event serves as a platform for mothers, warriors, teachers, artists and dreamers to share their unique perspectives and art.
