Experience a retelling of the Nativity story through the lens of African-American culture. Brévo Theatre Presents: Black Nativity at the Sandrell Rivers Theater from December 5-8. Based on the Song Play by Langston Hughes, this South Florida premiere blends traditional gospel music with the journey of Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem, complete with African costumes. The production brings a unique perspective to the classic story, combining spirituals with Hughes' poetic narrative.
