Encounter some of the Deering Estate's estimated 170 resident and migratory bird species on the estate's monthly guided Bird Walk. Generally held on the second Saturday of the month, the seasonal Bird Walk takes place from October through April. The tour meets at the Visitor Center
As part of the Biscayne Bay Important Bird Area (IBA), the estate is recognized as an important habitat for the conservation of bird populations. Among shore birds that you'll likely run into are Ibises, herons and egrets. Be sure to bring binoculars.
Mosquitos are common throughout the year, please come prepared with appropriate attire such as long sleeve shirts and long pants. This program is for adults and youth ages 4 and up. Guests are encouraged to document their flora and fauna findings on the iNaturalist app.
Space is limited. Ticket price includes general admission to the estate during regular hours from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the same day of your visit.
